1. 의문사 없는 의문문
- 평서문에서 주어와 조동사의 위치를 바꾼다.
- 조동사에는 "be동사"와 "have/has/had +p.p에서의 have/has/had 등을 포함.
- 조동사가 없으면 "do"조동사를 이용하여 만들어라.
- 삽입한 "do"조동사에는 시제를 포함시켜라.
- Yes / No 로 대답이 가능.
ex)
You can finish this job by tomorrow. → Can you finish this job by tomorrow?
He had completed his job. → Had he completed his job?
He was in his house all day. → Was he in his house all day?
He desired to win the game. → Did he desire to win the game?
2. 의문사 있는 의문문 만들기
- 평서문에서 의문사로 바꿀 대상을 선정한다음 적절한 의문사로 바꾼다.
- 바꾼 의문사를 문장성분 단위로 문두로 끌어낸다.
- 주어와 조동사의 위치를 바꾼다. (의문사가 주어이거나 주어의 일부이면 X)
- Yes / No 로 대답이 불가능.

→ ① Who met Jan in dark rooms?
→ ② Whom(=Who) did Tom meet in dark rooms? ※ whom(의문사) -> who(의문사) O

= In what(or which) rooms did Tom meet Jane? ※ what 또는 which
→ ④ What(or Which) did Tom meet Jane in?
= In what(or which) did Tom meet Jane?
→ ⑤ Where did Tom meet Jane?
